Lotta Wahlin (Swe): Looking for a new success
Even though Sweden's Lotta Wahlin played in 15 events in 2009, the LET-star couldn't match her great 2008 season, where she posted three wins, including her playoff victory at the Wales Ladies Championship, and seven top 10 finishes before beeing forced to make a last minute withdrawal from the season ending Dubai Ladies Masters due to injury. In 2009 her season-best was a tie for 14th at the Portugal Ladies Open. She also represented Sweden alongside Carin Koch at the European Nations Cup where the pair tied for 8th place.
Before the 2009 season Wahlin had consistently improved in each of her seasons on the LET. She finished third on the Telia Tour Order of Merit in 2005, earning LET membership. In her first full LET season, 2006, she was 39th on the money list. In 2007, she moved up to 21st on the strength of seven Top tens. In 2008 she finally notched her first LET victories. A lot had to do with the swing changes she underwent earlier in the season, the 26 year old said. “I am rotating even more now." Now, refreshed after a long break, the 176 cm tall gym fan is expected to aim for another top spot at this year’s Deutsche Bank Ladies’ Swiss Open.
